A blend of Merlot/Cabernet Franc/Cabernet uvignon/Carménère/Malbec/Petit Verdot from rom Jean-François and Dominique Quenin comes this wine aged 18 months in new and used oak barrels and clay amphorae. Spry aromas—think tangerine tajine, orange slices pulled from sangria, trawberries and shortbread. A linear attack followed by a three course mid palate including yams, cassis, chocolate and red cherries on the finish. Bright acidity that tingles the tongue and an unobtrusive set of tannins. Pair with irepoix and cous cous, or a mushroom casserole. More integrated than the 2019 vintage and as complex and delightful as from the 2018 vintage.

Second wine of Pressac, with currants and hints of chocolate and flowers. Medium body. Fine tannins. Subtle.

Lifted and lightly leafy from the Cab Franc. But really sweet as well as leafy. Deep, firm and smooth. A slight sweet-sour effect on the finish.

It has delicate morello cherries and raspberry flavor, a polished palate with tasty fruit and gentle tannin, a soft texture, and a lingering finish. It is a tasty and pleasant wine. 91p.

Sehr dicht, feinduftig, floral, viel dunkle Frucht, Brombeeren, Kirsche. Am Gaumen seidenweich, feinste Gerbstoffe, knackige Frucht, wüsste man nicht, dass es sich um den Zweitwein handelt, man wähnt sich in einem Grand Vin. Zweifellos der beste Tour de Pressac.

Dark purple colour with violet hue and almost black core. Elegant nose with restrained fruit and sightly closed character, hints of dark berries, vanilla and gingerbread, discreet floral hints in the background. On the palate well structured and balanced with ripe tannins, juicy fruit, medium mid palate and good length.

The 2023 Tour de Pressac emerges from the estate’s young vines and less-well-exposed parcels. It is a gorgeous, fruit-forward wine with terrific aromatic presence and fine balance.

Ruby. Blackberries, anise, spices, fruit driven, scented nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, juicy, elegant texture, fruit driven and lively, long finish.

The 2021 Tour de Pressac is a terrific second wine. Fresh, vibrant and nuanced, the 2021 is impeccable in its balance. Crushed flowers, red berry fruit, spice, mint and chalk are all finely sketched in this tasty mid-weight.

The 2021 Tour de Pressac has developed nicely on the nose during its barrel maturation: blackberry, raspberry, brown spices and a touche of sage. There’s a little more complexity here than some of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, well-balanced and quite fresh. Though it does lack some grip and substance on the finish, this should drink well over the next decade.

Pretty red currants, red cherries, mineral, cream and a touch of white pepper to the nose. A simpler and more linear expression here with firm, chalky tannins and a subtle, refined finish. A little light at the end. One for early drinking. Enjoy now through to 2028.

71/16/9/2/2 blend of Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/ Cabernet Franc/ Carménère/Malbec from Jean François and Dominique Quenin. Still young and somewhat tight with tannins. Aromas of black currants and black pepper. Linear mid palate; rounded on finish.

The second wine of Château de Pressac, from the Quenin family, this presents a sweet and smoky nose, with a fruit profile which features damson, rose petal, crystalline redcurrant and strawberry. The palate places all this in a delicate, acid-framed construction, filled with lightly grained and powdery tannins, with a rather fresh, sour-fruit finish. Delicately poised, with a finish filled with sour cherry and somewhat drying tannin, this will need a couple of years in bottle to integrate and absorb this delicate grip. The alcohol on the label is 13.5%.

Dark purle core and a lighter rim. Pure nose offering wild berries, some chalky notes, mild spice and supple oak. The palate is balanced in a lighter profile, supple with ripe tannin, digest red fruit flavours with a gentle hint of butterscotch with a fine length.
