Compelling and a clear buy. Detailed, finessed, refined, balanced and crisp, juicy and charming. Everything you want in a wine.

Deep dark ruby garnet colour with opaque core and purple reflections, delicate brightening on the rim. Dark berries, hints of ripe cherries, fine savouriness, some nougat, inviting, multi-faceted bouquet. Powerful, juicy, ripe blackberries, fresh, very persistent, mineral and salty on the finish, certain ageing potential for many years.

Château de Pressac 2022 impresses with its ability to showcase fruitiness regardless of hot and dry growing seasons. Upon swirling the glass, notes of red plums, blackberries, raspberries, and hawthorn cake emerge, followed by hints of cinnamon and clove, creating a lively and delightful experience. The fine powdery tannins cover the palate, enhancing the already round and structured body, while the finish is enriched with a nutty flavor, adding layers of complexity. This

The 2022 de Pressac is dense, rich and explosive. Ripe dark cherry, plum, spice, menthol, licorice and chocolate give the 2022 notable depth and complexity. The tannins are very well balanced for a young Pressac, while floral top notes lift the finish. Tasted two times.

From the Quenin clan, on the eastern plateau, this kicks off with a dense, compact, savoury and lightly toasted nose, melding very concentrated yet perfumed plum and cherry fruits with rose petals and violets. The palate is very convincing, harmonious, with a minerally grain to it as – I suspect – a reflection of the limestone terroir, with silky fruit, modest texture and sweet black pepper. This is very convincing, very primary (as it should be) but with piles of sweet-and-savoury potential. Elegantly composed, convincing, harmonious and long, this is one of the more promising wines from the grand cru classé ranks. Tasted twice, with consistent findings.

Rather balanced in its expression of ripe fruit, red and black. Underlying wet stone freshness pleases! With more “modern” hints of dark chocolate, which complement rather than dominate. This is quite good indeed. Tasted twice with similar notes.

Le premier nez est fermé puis s’ouvre sur la menthe et l’eucalyptus. Ce gage de fraicheur se confirmeen bouche pour un bel équilibre acidité-sucrosité et ce caractère juteux. L’ensemble est une promesse de garde avec une finale sur le bonbon acidulé. Le Château de Pressac signe un très beau 2022.

The 2022 Château De Pressac should be terrific. It has a forward, supple, incredibly charming style carrying lots of spicy red fruits, notes of leather, dried herbs, and loamy earth, medium body, plenty of mid-palate depth, and ripe tannins. I love its overall balance, and this is a seriously good 2022 that’s going to offer pleasure right out of the gate.

This has pleasing graphite and pencil-shaving notes alongside the dark berry and stone fruit; quite saline in its minerality. A hint of the cedar to come and a lovely wild heathery note. Fresh and softly textured, but with a fully charged, compact and energetic core of crushed ripe berry fruit – a little cherry skin and its tannins around the edges. Impressive. Long and always fresh and sapid, with good intensity. Continuing the upward trajectory here.

six different bordeaux varieties planted here! Bright crimson. Quite a broad spread of interesting flavours on the nose. Sweet, almost sickly, start to the palate and some fairly light tannins on the end. Medium persistence. Juicy, transparent but not that dense a wine considering the vintage potential.

Coup de Coeur : Le terroir et la mosaïque de cépages sont très propices à affronter les caprices plus en plus fréquents de la météo d’ajourd’hui. En effet, grâce à son assemblage unique, le vin a beaucoup de caractère en gardant le soyeux et l’élégance de Merlot, avec sa fraicheur et sa belle acidité. Sa structure et sa persistance sont remarquables, lui donnent son côté viril.

Le nez est fruité, épicé, puissant et racé. On y retrouve des notes de mûre de Boysen, de cassis et plus légèrement de poivre associées à des touches de violette, de petits fruits bleus sauvages ainsi qu’à des pointes de camphre, à une discrète pointe de torréfaction ainsi qu’à une discrète pointe de sens de la place (biotop local). La bouche est fruitée, équilibrée et offre de la minéralité, de la rondeur, de l’ampleur, un joli volume, une jolie fraicheur, de la suavité, de la souplesse ainsi qu’un côté aérien dans sa richesse et dans sa puissance. En bouche ce vin exprime des notes de mûre pulpeuse/crémeuse, de cassis pulpeux et plus légèrement de groseilles écrasées associées à des touches de myrtille pulpeuse/acidulée, à des pointes de sens de la place, de vanille, de fève tonka ainsi qu’à une pointe de graphite et de noisette toastée. Les tannins sont souples. Présence d’une fine pointe florale sur la persistance.

La subtilité et la fraîcheur sont les éléments-clés du bouquet ! Le fruit aussi, évidemment, dans une mesure filigrane. En bouche le vin annonce une entrée en matière délicate, même élancée. Les tannins se révèlent lentement, pas à pas, pour finalement adopter une attitude conquérante et vigoureuse. L’accord avec la structure acide est idéal et cette dernière soulève la fraîcheur et la minéralité du terroir du plateau calcaire de St-Etienne-de-Lisse. Un grand vin de Château de Pressac !

Bright violet-tinged plum colour, vivid berry fruit on the opening, with velvety texture that you really see and feel in the glass. Impressive, this has great quality and personality, with crunchy red fruit fruit that has juice without sacrifcing depth and complexity. Stands out in the appellation. Ma meilleure note donnée à ce cru en Primeur – Outsider Couleur sombre, intense et pourpre. Nez très aromatique, fin, fruité, pur, à la fois mûr et frais. Ample dès l’entrée en bouche, fondant au milieu, très aromatique, juteux, sans cesse accompagné par un gras fin, la construction est remarquable. Le vin laisse parler la suavité de son terroir, tout en rebondissant sur des saveurs complexes, fines, parfumées et nobles. C’est génial. Très grande persistance sans angle.

Ripe blackberry and cassis here with medium to full body and deep red berry succulence in the middle. Supple and sleek but wide and lengthy, with silky tannins. Long finish.

Silky, elegant, pure, fresh, and medium-bodied, the sweet, dark, red, and black fruits are vibrant, polished, refined, long, and pure in the nose, and on the palate. Drink from 2025-2040.

Black core with purple rim. Really fragrant and open, seems to show the 20% stems as much in the aroma as on the palate. Lovely freshness and refinement, especially in the finest of tannins. Elegant already. Cool and fresh but with more to come.

Darkpurple colour with violet hue and black core. Rich nose with expressive aroma reminiscent of dark chocolate, mocha and fine toasting, balmy spices backed by ripe lackberries, blackberry jam, plum compote and discreet floral hints. On the palate well structured and balanced with freshness, ripe tannins, elegant mid-palate and excellent length.
