“Half-bottle sample supplied. From Jean-François and Dominique Quenin. 71% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Carmenère, 2% ‘Noir de Pressac’ (Malbec). Exactly the same as Ch de Pressac so presumably these proportions apply to what is planted in the entire estate rather than the assemblage of the wine. This is apparently a blend of younger vines and particular parcels. Mid garnet. Really quite fragrant. But with more marked acidity and just a touch of greenness compared with the Ch de Pressac. Because of that acidity I’d wait longer before broaching this lighter wine. Lunchtime claret?”
